Questions & practical details
A few useful answers.
How to explore the guide, plan a winery visit and take the next step with a private academy tasting.
Explore the region
The Andalusian wine guide
Which parts of Andalucía does the guide cover?
All eight provinces: Cádiz, Córdoba, Málaga, Granada, Jaén, Huelva, Sevilla and Almería. The regional guides connect landscapes, grapes, cellar traditions and visitor information. Some follow a recognised wine region; others group neighbouring areas for exploration. They are geographical guides, not a claim that every producer belongs to the same designation.
How are wineries selected for the directory?
The directory brings together the supplied regional research and additional producers supported by official winery, tourism and regulatory-council sources. Entries introduce their wines and practical visiting information. It is an editorial selection rather than an exhaustive census of every Andalusian producer; inclusion does not imply a commercial partnership.
How current is the information?
We completed an extensive review of Andalusian wineries and vineyards in October 2026 and continue to review and update the directory. Individual profiles show their research or review dates. Opening hours, visits and other practical details can change, so please confirm arrangements directly with the winery before travelling.

Can every listed winery be visited?
Some wineries publish a visitor programme; others need a direct enquiry before access can be established. Neither status guarantees an appointment on your chosen date. Confirm the location, opening arrangements, group requirements, price and tasting selection with the producer.
Which languages are winery tours available in?
Our website is available in English, Spanish, Dutch and German. The language of a winery tour depends on the producer, the guide and the date. Profiles include language information where it is documented; please confirm your preferred language with the winery before booking.
How do I use the regional guides alongside a bottle’s label?
The guide introduces a place and its wine culture. The bottle gives you the specific producer, designation and wine style. A province can contain several protected origins and many styles; a familiar grape or place name does not tell you the wine’s sweetness by itself.
Bring the guide to the table
The academy experience
What is Andalusia Wine Academy?
The academy brings the guide to life through personal tastings, guided masterclasses and private gatherings. Our private tasting venue, Bodega Sierra de Mijas, is in La Sierrezuela, Mijas. We explore Andalusian wine through its landscapes, grapes and food. A four-wine flight, tactile soil samples and regional tapas can make the geography tangible; the format is tailored to your group. Choose the signature Andalusian flight, a regional focus or a bespoke comparison.
Do we visit wineries during the masterclass?
The masterclass is a hosted tasting at the venue agreed for your group. Winery visits are separate experiences arranged with the producers. The directory and regional guides help you plan those visits independently.
Do I need to know about wine already?
No. We begin with what you can see, smell and taste, then introduce ideas that help explain the differences. Curious beginners and experienced wine lovers can share the same table. Tell us your group’s experience when requesting a session so we can pitch the discussion appropriately.
How many people can attend?
You can enquire for one to 20 guests. We offer personal tastings, guided masterclasses and larger private gatherings, including groups of 15–20. The depth, pace, venue and service are agreed around your group and occasion. For larger gatherings, we confirm a suitable setting and hosting arrangement before you book.
Which bottles and tapas will be served?
The flights and pairings on the website are illustrative. Actual producers, cuvées, vintages and dishes depend on availability and your group’s requirements. We agree the selection before confirming your session. A featured producer is an educational reference, not a promised winery partnership.
How long is a session, and what does it cost?
Session length, start time and pricing are included in the proposal for your chosen flight and group. Your request lets us prepare a specific offer before you commit; the website does not display live seat inventory.

Getting here & your menu
Where is the tasting room?
Bodega Sierra de Mijas is our private home tasting room in La Sierrezuela, Mijas, near Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol. The venue is agreed for each group, particularly for larger gatherings. We share the exact arrival address and practical directions with confirmed guests.
Can I come from Marbella, Fuengirola or another coastal town?
Yes. Tell us where you are staying and your preferred arrival time in the request. A pre-booked taxi or private transfer is a practical choice if you will be tasting. Transport is arranged separately and is not included unless expressly agreed in your proposal. Check your journey and organise your return in advance.
Can you accommodate vegetarian, vegan or other dietary requirements?
Tell us what your group needs when you enquire. We can consider adaptations to the proposed tapas and will confirm what is feasible before the booking is agreed. The final menu may differ from the examples on the website.
What if I have a food allergy?
Please raise any allergy before we confirm the session, so we can discuss the ingredients and preparation involved. We cannot promise an environment free of every allergen or eliminate all cross-contact; preparation and facilities depend on the agreed venue. We will be clear about what can be accommodated before you decide.
Can someone attend without drinking alcohol?
Please include this in your enquiry. We can discuss a non-drinking place and suitable alternatives as part of a private session, subject to the agreed format. The core masterclass is a wine-tasting experience; use a taxi, private transfer or designated driver if you plan to drink.
Is the venue accessible for my needs?
Please describe any mobility or access needs before booking. We need to confirm the arrival route and facilities at the proposed venue with you, including when the experience is at Bodega Sierra de Mijas, our private home tasting room. We will discuss this before confirming your session.
Make it yours
Private sessions & reservations
Can I book the whole table for friends, family or colleagues?
Yes. We welcome private groups up to 20, including gatherings of 15–20 for friends, family or colleagues. Choose a flight or tell us your occasion and interests. A larger social tasting can have a different rhythm and service style from a focused masterclass; we agree the venue, format and proposal with you before confirming.
Can I request a private sommelier session or one-to-one tasting?
Yes. One-to-one and smaller private sessions can be requested. You might focus on flor and soleras, native varieties, amphora, a blind comparison or a particular region. Tell us your goal and level of experience, and we will propose a suitable flight and format.
Can we combine more than one region?
Yes. A cross-regional flight is a useful way to study a single question: dry Moscatel, dry Pedro Ximénez and Palomino, for example, or the different paths from flor to oxidative ageing. Choose the signature Andalusian flight or select the bespoke option and describe your interests.
Does submitting the form reserve my seat?
It sends a booking request. A seat or private date is reserved only once we have agreed availability, the format, pricing and any applicable terms with you. An acknowledgement of your request is not a booking confirmation.
What happens after I send a request?
Your preferences are recorded so we can review the flight, party size and dates together. We then agree the practical details before confirming the booking. Please include alternative dates if you can. No payment is taken through the request form.
What if I need to change the date?
Ask as soon as possible so we can review alternatives. Any payment, cancellation and date-change terms will be provided with your proposal before you confirm; the request form itself does not create a confirmed booking.
